We hear it all of the time, I’ll be happy when… When is when? I think its great to have goals to strive for but once we achieve these goals they really do only provide momentary bliss- then we’re onto the next… We’ve all been here and sometimes I catch myself thinking these thoughts and I nip them in the bud ASAP. Life shouldn’t be about yearning for something to happen or waiting until the day that we’ve finished this project, got that promotion or bought the car we’ve always wanted. We all know we’ll be craving something ELSE as soon as the honeymoon period of this accomplishment subsides.
How about we all just appreciate where we are. Who we are. We’re doing our best. And if we aren’t 100%, whole heartedly where we want to be in our lives right now- it’s okay. Whats to say we cant appreciate right now? Life is still good. We are living and breathing and hopefully we all have loved ones surrounding us. Life could be alot worse!
Lets keep chipping away and carving our paths. We’ll get to where we want to be, who we want to be there with and what we want to be doing with our time. Lets do more of the things we love, relish in our hobbies, spend more time outside and disconnecting from social media. And just be present. Because now is the moment that never ends. And we’ll never get this time back. Life is wonderful. Lets appreciate what we have, right here, right now 🙂
There’s heaps to do in Brisbane! Great sized city in a fantastic location. Keep reading to find out my top 6 fave activities in Queensland’s capital.
Roma street parklands
Roma street is a happy place. It is so well looked after and there are numerous different colours throughout this natural space right in the middle of the city. So lovely to walk around, have a picnic in or do some painting like my friend and I did recently! Highly recommend.
2. Howard smith wharves
This little spot has to be one of the most beautiful places in Brissy. Whether you are brunching, after a knock off drink or even a stroll along the river walk. This is such a trendy area with good energy. You’ll see lots of weddings and everyone seems happy. Not a cheap suggestion but worth heading down for a brew on the brown snake.
3. See a game at Suncorp
I couldn’t have less interest in sport but suncorp is fun. Such a good atmosphere and most of the time you can pick up a ticket for $30. They also have concerts here(pre covid) went and saw U2 with my rents and was such a wicked show/night/memory.
4. Eat something sweet @ Eat Street
Eat street is amazing! It’s a few gold coins to enter but its paradise! Any cuisine you could ever ask for will be at these markets. They are also licenced and sell cocktails and beer, woohoOoOo. Try the halloumi gyros and anything that has nutella on it!
5. New Farm Park
New Farm is another beautiful area in the city. On the edge of the river and a great location for a park workout or a stroll. The powerhouse is also here so could catch a comedy show if the stars aligned.
6. Go for a cruise to Mount Nebo
This is a tourist drive but if you time it well you wont have to deal with all of the other cars. Super scenic, pretty and really windy roads. Feels like Far North Queensland and as if you aren’t near a city at all. Roughly a 25 minute drive depending on where you are leaving from! Also some nice walking trails to partake in!
There’s so much to see and do in Brisbane. Get out there and have some fun ya bloody pork chops!
